Epic Updates – Sign-in, Areas

1) The Sign In Screen is different!

It takes up the whole screen but the main area is in the upper left and looks relatively normal.  The only hour choices are 8 and 12.
But now you can add a comment (for example Team D or Flex or ‘Hey everyone’)
Also these choices ‘stick’ just like the old ones meaning they will pull forward the next time you log on.

Also you can add a new role by searching in the new role space.
I added consulting physician and can utilize that new role by clicking on the square (and unclick the attending one) if you want to be attached to a patient (so they stay on ‘My Patients’) but not be in the main column. You will need to sign up for them with that new role.
Now when signing out if you haven’t finished your documentation, you can go to treatment team, add the ‘new attending’ so they can be in the right column. And add yourself as a ‘team member’ which defaults to my known ‘secondary role’ as ‘consultant’.
You should just make sure to unassign yourself when you are done finishing your notes.

2) There is now an ‘AREAS’ tab
If you click on that tab, you can multiclick different tabs you want to see in one view.
Below, see how I clicked Team AC and Team BC at the top and both now appear on one view. You can now configure to your liking. Don’t know what is in a Care Area? Head to the ED Manager screen!
