Thank you for utilizing the ED Discharge Sedation Smartset for patients undergoing procedural sedation… our compliance in providing the correct instructions as a division has improved from 15% to 80% in 2 months!
The ASAP team has some more discharge smartsets coming to suggest the correct BH discharge items/support #s, subspecialty follow-ups, etc and we will be giving BCHPEM a re-vamp soon to have tip sheets & organized updates at the forefront.
4 quick bites below!
- Moderate Sedation Proc(edure) Doc: the procedure form was updated to make it more clear (and mandatory) to indicate which provider is the sedating provider and which is the proceduralist
- EKG 🫀– please remember to input your interpretation please – Dr. Fine’s billing corner ❤️
- Please try and complete your procedure notes in close to real time, and while the patient is still in the department if possible. This goes for all procedures including sedations, EKGs and critical care. Please encourage the trainees to do the same. Andy Fine will discuss more in PEMA on Tuesday
Attending Corner:
3. Observation Billing: If you have a In Basket deficiency for billing that populates >24 hours after your shift and have NOT received any feedback from Virginia or Leighann, reach out to Virginia and Leighann before dropping the charge
4. BH Daily Attestations: Please follow the “REQUIRED” suggestion to write a unique element to your daily BH attestation note
