Hey all!
We survived another downtime and another upgrade so we have a lot to report here so settle in!
——————————-
Upgrades:
or
1) Work up tab lab grouping – in the past, labs in the work-up tab were grouped chronologically. But now a toggle appears where they can be grouped by type instead.  By type might be good when comparing repeated labs. Time might be better to see latest more easily. The world is your oyster. You can toggle away as often as you want. It will ‘stick’ to your last setting!
———————————
2) ED Course ‘Speed Button’ responses – you can create buttons with prefilled in smartphrases now on the work-up tab. Sick of dictating or typing ‘lab reviewed and normal’? Make a button! (I am personally very excited about this one.)
Instructions –
A) Create a smartphrase you want at the ready here
B) Hit the wrench in ED Course box (see red circle above)
C) Search the Smartphrase window and click add. (You will have access to personal and global phrases). The Caption box (denoted with red above) is what the button will appear as. Here I named it AJCWUSIGNEDOUT as my phrase name but will change it to ‘Sign out’ as the button name.
D) The buttons then drop the smartphrase directly into the EDCourse box. It applies same rules as usual so here I have built in a smartlist dropdown about rad studies.
This is a personal choice so we cannot default buttons for people! But this should make life even quicker if you implement.
I mean, I have already built 4!

3) Social Determinants of Health Redux-
Clarifying some questions. The SDOH instructions only need to be given if the patient answers they want information on the screening form the nurses fill out. And we have built it that you will only see the SmartSet when they have answered yes and it is during that ED visit. So seeing this is the most important thing to hit our mark!
You may still see red on the social determinant widget – but if these were from prior responses or they indicated they did not want help, you will not see the SmartSet cue. So please keep your eye out for that!
——————————————–
4) Critical Care ProcDoc – We have removed the ‘start/stop’ fields to streamline the not. You will only be prompted to put in the time of critical care moving forward.
———————————————-
5) HSV ordering –  having a hard time ordering the swabs for potential HSV patient? There is an HSV/VZV Microbiology Testing panel which lays out what to do.

As always, thanks for all your help and suggestions!
Your EPIC  team,
AJC, JKC, and MBH
